About the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) - The MPRE can be, and almost always is, taken before graduation from law school.
- The Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) is a sixty question, two-hour and five minute, multiple-choice examination administered three times each year.
- The Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) is required for admission to the bars of all but three US jurisdictions.
- Passing scores, which are established by each jurisdiction, currently vary between 75 and 86.
MPRE scores from any jurisdiction in the United States are automatically recognized by all other jurisdictions (assuming that any special timing requirements are met), although in order to be admitted to a bar, an applicant must meet that jurisdiction's minimum passing score. Scores on the Multistate Bar Examination (MBE), another component of the bar exam in almost all states, do not necessarily transfer between jurisdictions. Some jurisdictions will not accept an MBE score from any other jurisdiction; some others only accept MBE scores from another jurisdiction if the applicant is concurrently taking the bar exam in two jurisdictions; still others require a minimum MBE score for transfer.

It Works December 9, 2009 Diane Palumbo (Southern California) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I highly recommend this book. It's a fast, easy read and is organized very nicely. The tests are very helpful and really get you ready for the real thing. With only 4 hours prep time - reading the outline; taking the tests and analyzing the answers, I passed with a great score. Good luck!
Great Aid September 9, 2009 A. Alarcon (United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book had enough test questions and explanatory answers to help get me through the exam. I used this when I studied and I passed the MPRE! I highly recommend it. In addition the vendor sent the product in a timely manner and in perfect condition. As a result, I highly recommend the seller!
GREAT STUDY AIDE April 3, 2010 Sharon R. Williams (Oakland, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I needed this book to prep for an exam and it was VERY HELPFUL!!!! I haven't studied since law school graduation(years ago....2002)and i needed an immediate up to date refresher with current law and this worked! I wish I had gotten it sooner than I did, nevertheless it was a great help. I felt pretty confident during the test. Don't know if I passed yet but, whatever the result.... I am definitely glad I chose the KAPLAN PMBR EXAM PREP BOOK!!!
not all that great December 1, 2009 Bethany Nelson 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
It includes a set of rules that is not included on the MPRE. the format of questions is different from what you will see on the MPRE and some of the answers are downright incorrect.
It does do a good job of summarizing the rules and especially the judicial canons, but if you haven't looked at the rules previously, this won't be all that helpful.
Shallow treatment, incomplete answers July 16, 2009 yoink23 (Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This study aid is pretty terrible. It is definitely not worth the money. The outline at the beginning is only 52 pages long, so most of the value of the book is in the sample questions. However, the answers given to these sample questions are terse and unhelpful. Often all the answer choices are not explained leaving you wondering why answer D wasn't the best, for example.
Also, so far the questions have seemed overly easy, which is a common symptom of sub-par study aids. People like easy things, but if you are looking to prepare for the MPRE or a PR exam, don't rely solely on this book.
