5 out of 5 stars Very helpful for older attorneys   September 12, 2007

I had not taken a bar exam since I took the Louisiana bar over 20 years ago. I decided to take the MPRE recently and had never taken it before. The cards were extremely helpful. I made a 93 on the test. If you have not taken a bar exam in a long time and need a complete refresher course, I would recommend this learning tool.

5 out of 5 stars HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR MPRE PREP   July 5, 2005

I am just over 1/2 through the cards, and want to highly recommend them for MPRE prep. I had a concern with the answer to one of the fact scenarios, and after pleasant and prompt correspondence with Aspen (publisher), learned that an answer directly inferred from a reading of the Model Rules (including Preamble) and Commentary was in fact wrong -- only known by a comparative analysis of the old code with the new Rules. Kudos to Aspen for this depth of knowledge, as well as great service! The scenarios are sufficiently entertaining to avoid boredom, a feature that also greatly aids in retention.

5 out of 5 stars A MUST for the MPRE   August 27, 2009

I've been out of law school for a number of years and practicing law in a single state. Recently, I had to get licensed in a new state and that meant taking the MPRE again. Even in law school I was never one of those students who could get by studying outlines. So I went looking for a flash card set and found these. They were worth every penny. I not only passed the MPRE this time, but got pretty close to a perfect score. These cards made up 90% of my review time, and gave me the ability to distinguish among the very subtle factual distinctions you find on the MPRE. I would highly recommend that anyone taking the MPRE, or just taking the class in law schoo, get these cards.

3 out of 5 stars Thorough, Cumbersome   December 10, 2009

I don't know how much time you plan on putting into studying for the MPRE, but I put in a fairly good amount. And I'm glad I did. It's more difficult than many people will admit.

If you fall into the "I'm just going to study the day before" camp, I wouldn't recommend this. Honestly, there are so many cards here that I think you really need at least four days for any of it to stick. I personally got so bored with this that I didn't even finish the second deck. It is the definition of thorough. If you can imagine a situation where the Model Rules would be called upon, the authors have probably thought of it before you and written a card for it.

So my advice to you is that if you plan on putting in a good two weeks of study for this test and are serious about blowing it out of the water, this would be a good study aid. But if you are merely looking to pass it, there are far less time consuming ways to get the job done. It put me to sleep a few times.

3 out of 5 stars Not too bad....   November 22, 2009

The cards were helpful, but more abnormal scenarios could have been provided as examples. Plus, I didn't get all the sections b/c one section had been duplicated and placed in the box accordingly.
